A UW Tacoma alumni, I acted as program assistant within the Office of Student Involvement for a year, and have two years of further experience in customer service. A confident and concise communicator, I assisted a diverse clientele at UWT and Petsmart, providing information on services and policies. I’m a flexible professional who enjoys learning new skills, and I adapt quickly to project challenges and organizational changes as proven through my role in collaboration with the Student Activities Board, within academic divisions at UWT.In my commitment to stewardship and justice, I embraced a self-directed independent study focusing on questions of community and belonging in my graduate studies. A capable multi-tasker and versatile writer, I tracked data and information using Excel and Word, eventually compiling research in a detailed and comprehensive 26,000 word thesis. Variations of my thesis have been presented at three conferences in the fields of liberal studies and human rights. Since an undergraduate, I have maintained long-term, friendly relationships with both faculty and staff at UWT in an effort to continue learning and networking in support of community-based projects to eradicate the disenfranchisement of at-risk populations in Tacoma. Overall, my commitment to stewardship can be seen within my over ten years of volunteer experience. These commitments have largely focused on reducing or addressing the effects of stigmatization and abuse. Currently, I volunteer with Freezing Nights Ministry as a direct service provider to those experiencing homelessness, and I recently completed the Out in Front leadership program which provided me education in non-profit structure, public speaking, and trauma stewardship.I am looking to continue to provide services to those in need through social or civil organizations.
