As a freelance UX Researcher and Strategist, my role centers around collaborating on ongoing initiatives, providing strategic direction, and offering insights that critically inform design decisions. A key aspect of my work is developing and refining methodologies for testing emergent technologies, particularly with XR/spatial design and Generative AI experiences.

Dove into a short-term gig to design Grainger's first customer-facing tablet experience, from Find all the way through Buy. Mentored UX architects in the tablet design space.

As a kind of Jedi Knight with the DIG - SHC's internal think tank - I solved the unsolvable and made sense of a lot of disarray. Hard to describe a typical day; primary research and position formation, thought leadership, and all that blah-blah. Published when I could. Lending a hand to pitch sessions, strategy formation, process revamping, or spinning innovation. Occasionally designing responsive experiences across multiple channels, and teaching others about how I'd done that.No direct reports at that gig... so I need to use charm and the power of my ideas to convince people to work with me, that my efforts are worth partnering with. That being said I've led large teams and laser-focused workgroups, pulling them together for some urgent need then letting them dissolve back into their own reporting structure when we were done. Also, with the DIG I've had program-level enterprise experience design/information architecture; I was the practice lead for social media, community and engagement design for SHC's UX group. I helped weave thinking into our social processes and browse/buy strategy, And I owned SHC/UX's strategy for designing aspects of social media throughout the shopping experience. I mentored senior UX architects in the development of social shopping experiences and producing deliverables, partnered with Product Management to evolve social retail experiences at all levels within our various brands. I raised the SHC brand by being a visible thought leader in the field of social shopping UX by speaking, publishing, and preaching the gospel of elegant social user experience. Published on and managed the blog at ux.sears.comDuring my tenure I also developed innumerable usability tests end-to-end, from defining and writing screeners to facilitation, from processing what was learned and delivering the results in an understandable, consumable way. I've developed, led, analyzed, and presented on primary research.

Strategic-level experience design/information architecture; designing new or revamping current applications that make the business of AF easier to do, and more profitiable to engage in. An example project: Agents all over the country currently use 5 differnet applications to gather info on leads, track that info, hand off to specialists, quote, and process the app. I help design, prototype and test the next-gen single solution app that serves all these needs, and integrates into current agetn tech and culture. I help influence stratgic level thinking and changes in direction, changing how business gets done on all levels by modifying the interfaces of the things I help design, which in turn changes workflow.
