My story starts in the world of ecommerce, with a wild-eyed youth shoved into the deep end of the glamorous world of pet supplies. A friend’s family had the confidence in me to make me the operations manager of their business, getting my first taste of web content, purchasing, customer service management, and the 2000’s version of digital marketing. It was a risky decision giving so much responsibility to someone with so little experience, but I learned an overwhelming amount, and my employers were happy with their decisionAfter several years of e-commerce, I moved into the agency life. I learned about the challenges faced by small and medium sized businesses and took a deep dive into Search Engine Optimization and Search Marketing. Even as the companies I worked for grew in size, I still had the privilege of directly reporting to the CEO, which meant I not only got to see the fruits of my work, but I was able to plant seeds, as well. Having clear numbers to measure my impact on an organization has been the most rewarding aspect of my professional life.I have completed business school. I have entered the nonprofit space to bring my work closer in line with my values. It's a special feeling to have so much alignment between those huge aspects of my life.
