During this period I worked on the following projects:1. THRIP Waste-to-Energy Project - In 2016 we finished the steam-engine's phase two where I did design changes in order to get the engine working on steam.2. AMI Project - In 2016 I did various system designs for the AMI Projects where small systems were needed in order to test various hypotheses and to complete the required research.3. Master's Engineering Project - Since 2016, I worked on my M.Eng Project were I focussed on the manufacturing of nuclear fuel components. In this study, I focused on the following aspects of a manufacturing facility: Quality Control Analysis, Machining Analysis, Surrogate Material Selection, and the Economic Feasibility of various technologies. For the QC Analysis, we looked at the current technology available and calculated its uncertainty, accuracy, and repeatability. We compared these results with various new age equipment to see whether it is possible to measure the required specifications and tolerances, after which we made recommendations for the future. For the Machining Analysis, we looked at various tools, cutting parameters in order to find a working procedure for the manufacturing. For the Economic Feasibility of the facility, we analysed the system in terms of human interference, automation, quality, deliverable amounts and cost in order to find the best model for the company. For this project, we worked with the following companies: Carl Zeiss, Tshwane University of Technology - Institute for Advance Tooling, ISCAR, NMISA, TLIU, Necsa.

During this time I worked full-time at Necsa while completing my Final Year of my B.Eng. Degree. I worked on the THRIP Waste-to-Energy Project, where I designed, built and tested a Steam-Engine. The steam-engine was funded by iNkwazi Software Solutions. The first phase of the project was to get a working engine, this engine just needed to run on compressed air. The first phase was successful and the topic for my Final Years Project at NWU.I worked on the SANEDI Project where it was expected of me to design, procure and manage the project with set deadlines. I worked on the Advance Metal Initiative Project (AMI) where we designed a new Radio Frequency Plasma Reactor. The aim of this design is to prove that it is possible to spheroidise metal powder using plasma technology. My article for the AMI Conference in 2015 was about the design review of the design. The project was successful and Necsa was able to procure a Prototype Tekna Spheriodisation System.

During my holidays, I worked as a student mechanical engineer, where I designed various components for the THRIP Waste-to-Energy and SANEDI Waste-to-Energy Projects. I was also exposed to component evaluation and redesign of the evaluated components. I also did some reverse engineering work.

During the holidays in 2011, I worked at Tecroveer in the workshop where I was exposed to various sheet metal work. I worked with various sheet metal equipment, such as plasma cutters, welders, cold rolling equipment, etc.
