Working with the gallery director to construct a new online store, utilizing Shopify, Later, Wixsite, and other online programs to expand the gallery’s customer base. Writing content and scheduling posts for exhibition marketing campaigns and gallery announcements, planning community events, and performing day-to-day gallery duties, including sales utilizing Squarespace and curating gallery walls.

Enforcing COVID-19 protocols in the exhibit to ensure the safety and satisfaction of guests, performing customer service, and answering questions about Van Gogh.

Assisting gallery director in fulfilling orders, packing prints, sculptures, jewelry, and other art objects, changing wall displays in the gallery, transporting art for framing, restoration, or other maintenance, utilizing Shopify to fulfill orders, utilizing Craiglist and Ebay to list furniture for sale, and managing the gallery’s social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest; taking inventory, measuring and polishing objects, assisting in gallery appointments, and other duties as assigned.

Assisting in reception work, which encompasses taking daily attendance, processing gift shop transactions, accepting art deliveries, answering inquiries on the phone and at the desk, receiving memberships, helping to schedule field trips and other group visits, and performing reception functions at special events as needed; assisting in document archiving and filing with the director's assistant; taking on projects under the guidance of the museum curator and education curator; completing the collections internship with the curator, which involved learning about setting up exhibitions, completing accessions paperwork, writing label copy, making labels, and utilizing the museum's collections software, PastPerfect.

Project: A Thematic Curriculum of Museum Collections for Educational and Public UseThis was a summer-long project in which I, under the direction of the museum's education curator, created an educational packet that thematically sorted the museum's permanent collection into six groups in order to make drawing connections between time, place, and people easier for school-age children and visitors at the museum who are unfamiliar with art and cultural history. For the sake of time, I focused on the Sponenburgh Gallery, which contains HFMA's ancient, Asian, medieval, Christian, and European pieces. This project was also intended to make the past's relevance to our present clearer, as the museum has many ancient and medieval objects in its collections that seem to puzzle younger viewers, who are not inclined to recognize them as art. These six groups were Place, the Constructed World, Belief Systems and Religion, Economy and Trade, Aesthetics and Beauty, Identity, and Communication. Each group had subgroups that highlighted very specific features of the works that may have gone unnoticed. Since this project only featured one gallery within the permanent collection, I intend to expand it as much as I can before I graduate from the university; it also has the potential to become a web-based curriculum.
