Comprised of over 40,000 textiles spanning fifty countries, Textile Hive is based in Portland, Oregon houses and maintains the largest fully digitized private textile collection in the world. The collection was assembled by renowned fashion designer and textile scholar Andrea Aranow, and for over twenty years served as a vital source of ideas for thousands of fashion and interior designers globally.
Access to the physical and digital collection (through a stunning visual interface) is through membership, which helps maintain and add new materials. Textile Hive was created during a five-year process, planned and developed by Caleb Sayan to showcase how the collection could be better utilized and accessed.
