Postgraduate Researcher

Current

Museums and art galleries play a crucial role in meeting our educational and social needs. However, people with visual impairments often feel excluded from visiting these places because of a lack of accessible mediums for viewing visual art and inadequately trained staff. Accessibility strategies and research for art primarily focus on non-visual interpretations, even though most people with visual impairments retain some residual vision. My human centred research uses mixed methods to explore how to improve the visual accessibility of art using computer vision techniques with mixed reality devices.
