After graduating with my first college degree, I got a job as a data analyst for a telecommunications company. That was the first time I have been exposed to data and started working on it. Every day I had to process with Excel a lot of raw data files, all the data files needed to be reprocessed before being put into a general data file or used to do something else. With the data, I had to make daily or weekly, or monthly reports and send them to the managers in the company. Initially, this job was quite stressful for me, but gradually, I improved my skills in data processing with Excel, learn how to present problems in an easily understandable way to the audience, and how to make PowerPoint reports look neatly and attractively others. After that first year, my ability was recognized by my superiors and colleagues in the company. I regularly participated in new projects as a person who support data processing and it was when my interest in data started. Afterward, I decided to go back to university to study academically about data analysis. During my study at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, I also feel that I have more aptitude for programming and I am self-studying a specialized course on Coursera from IBM about data science to broaden my knowledge related to this field. This course equips me with a general idea about the job as a data scientist and also programming skills in R, SQL, and Python. I love data-related work, I have a high ability to focus and work under great pressure. I am looking for internship opportunities related to data so that I can practice what I have learned.
