The final draft report was issued for… Show more As the 'end of life programme lead'​ I am leading a cross organisational programme of work to work to improve end of life services within Northamptonshire. .The programme is in three stages:Stage 1 - Writing the strategy. Following engagement with health and social care providers, carers and the independent and voluntary sector across Northamptonshire I wrote the document 'a strategy for end of life care in Northamptonshire 2014 - 2019'​. The final draft report was issued for a six week review by public and professionals during September and October 2014. The strategy was agreed by the board of Healthier Northamptonshire and the executive boards of the two Clinical Commissioning Groups within the county in January 2015.Stage 2 - Work-stream and business case development. I identified within the strategy six major work-streams which would deliver the required objectives for the county. Each of these work-streams are subject to their own governance and are responsible for delivery of change. Any investment required will be agreed by the clinical commissioning groups.Stage 3 - implementation of change. Implementation has already commenced and will be an on-going process. I recognised that some change is within the 'gift'​ of providers and some require commissioning support and therefore it is an 'incremental' process. My expectation is that end of life services will continue to evolve and improve throughout the life of the strategy. Show less

Working with primary care, changes were introduced to medicines management using 'human'​ rather than 'analogue'​ insulin and recommended test strips more than £1m costs were saved per annum - which have been invested into the community diabetes team.Other projects included:- Pathway redesign for respiratory services including increasing funding to pulmonary rehabilitation and wellbeing to support patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD);- Supporting a tender process for the procurement of a home oxygen service in Northamptonshire;- Supporting the Associate Director with writing the 'Transforming Community Services'​ strategy for Northamptonshire. Managing the subsequent project to separate commissioner from the provider function.Reporting to the Head of the Planned Care Team within NHS Northamptonshire. Fraud reduced for that area of Barclaycard by £2m in the following calendar year.- Project manager for Chip and PIN for Company Barclaycard. Fourteen month product development Project to upgrade from Chip cards to Chip and PIN cards. Management of full project life cycle and a ‘virtual’ team of up to 15 people, including budget accountability. Delivered to time, quality and £300k under the £1.6m budget.- Company Barclaycard Chip project. Responsibility for Company Barclaycard upgraded from magnetic stripe to chip cards in response to counterfeit fraud threat. Project successfully implemented within 6 months. Rollout of chip cards for 500k cardholders achieved in 6 weeks. Fraud reduced by £4m the following year.- Project Manager on a £10m programme to replace an existing mainframe computer with a new card issuing platform. Full end to end lifecycle responsibility for management and delivery of a number of project work-streams.- Enhanced Data project. Working with VISA over an 18 month period to their prescribed specifications. The project was to provide additional spending data on statements. Show less
