I've always liked designing things and solving problems. When I was only a few years old, I would build marble runs with my Great-Uncle Rick who would joke to my parents that I was "doomed" to be an engineer like him. Well, Uncle Rick knew how to spot one. My love for problem-solving, math, chemistry and biology led me to obtain a degree in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Biochemical Engineering from Michigan State University. I have the pleasure of employing my expertise at Merit Laboratories Inc., a proud independent laboratory servicing client's environmental testing needs across the United States. Starting as an analyst in the Biological Oxygen Demand and Inorganics departments during my undergraduate studies, I have had the opportunity to learn the nuances of lab operations on a firsthand basis as well as work on exciting projects including the implementation of new analytical equipment to Merit's roster of latest instrumentation. Since then, I have joined the Quality Control team where I assist in providing clients the data and information they need to have full confidence in the high-quality results produced at Merit.
