I am a career public servant having served in Hertfordshire Constabulary for 30 years, retiring as an Inspector on the Road Policing Unit. I have a background in leadership, management, learning and development, incident management and investigation and I have extensive experience in leading teams in some of the most difficult and challenging circumstances. I am well versed in teamwork, both as a team member and team leader and have considerable experience of multi-agency partnerships, event management and collaborative working. I have strong communication skills and experience in presenting to public audiences and designing content to present. Not quite ready for retirement I am a part time Road Safety Officer - trying to drive down casualty rates on our roads after spending the majority of my police career dealing with the worst of road traffic collisions. Most recently using my skills and experience in designing and presenting on road safety topics to all ages, with a special emphasis on school age students, particularly sixth formers.I also have a long involvement with the Air Training Corps as a cadet and adult volunteer. I flew solo in an air cadet glider 6 years before I passed my driving test. I have been an ATC squadron commander, gliding instructor and currently serve as a Staff Pilot on an Air Experience Flight, introducing cadets to their first experience of flight.
