The company manufactures industrial Fans and extraction systems. I originally joined the company as a welder fabricator. Working from drawings to manufacture fans and associated systems ranging from small industrial portable extraction fans to units used in the mining industry weighing in excess of 18 tonsAfter 3 years working on the shop floor. I moved into the drawing office working on bespoke designs. Calculating material requirements, BOM's and overseeing manufacture.

To oversee the daily throughput of the Welding department. Liaising with the managers of the Press Shop, Machine Shop and Inspection departments to supply Chassis components and vehicle body sections, to the Automotive Industry. These included Jaguar, Freight Rover and Land Rover.To provide support and assistance with the R&D departments of these companies during the development of new products.To design and build Jigs and Fixtures to improve the production and efficiency of the company in order to maintain and control the quality and delivery times of the products. Time served apprenticeship as Blacksmith, Agricultural Engineer and Wheelwright.To manufacture, and restore literally anything required, through general Forge and engineering practices in Sheet metal work and Heavy Steel fabrication. One of the most interesting challenges I faced. Was a commision from the Bentley Drivers Club to work from the prints of original drawings, to manufacture 4 off replica 1932 Bently car chassis. By hand forging the side rails and cross beams and then to assemble the chassis using 'hot rivetting' techniques to ensure the finished chassis were as close to the originals as possible.Other work Included the repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery, equipment and vehicles.
