After many years of working for various companies and consulting firms I've gone independent so that I may focus more on the value of services provided to my customers & clients. This also allows me to inject other life passions & interests into my business portfolio such as aviation and home automation. However, enterprise Identity & Access Management/Governance (IAM/IAG) remains my primary focus,

Started a flight school at Ottawa Executive Airport in Zeeland Michigan. Having recently achieved my Instructor rating, I assist my other instructors to provide flight training for various students in pursuit of their pilot certificate and/or advanced ratings. This is a side-business and doesn't interfere with my primary line of business as an IAM consultant.

Responsible for standing up a new practice area focused around IAM. Develop and present IAM orientation materials to familiarize the organization with IAM technologies.Develop and present IAM sales training for external and internal sales reps.Work with vendor managers to establish relationship with SailPoint as a primary IAM vendor. Work to establish other vendor relationships to provide solutions for all remaining areas of IAM not provided by SailPoint (MFA, PIM, etc).Work with marketing managers to develop IAM marketing materials and inject IAM into existing marketing materials.Develop IAM professional services team. Define technical training plans, coordinate technical training in SailPoint technologies, and develop/present general IAM technology training around IAM project execution, best practices, requirement analysis processes, deployment practices, interface methods, etc.Develop plans for injecting IAM training tract into existing IT security Academy program.Interview and hire necessary IAM resources. Arrange for sub-contractors as necessary to service IAM projects.Participate with sales representatives in customer meetings, demos, and presentations as IAM SME.Define IAM services offerings such as IAM Assessment & Roadmap programs, implementation services, managed IAM services, etc.Develop and present proposals and statements of work for IAM projects, coordinating with SailPoint professional services for joint project scoping and estimation.Act as IAM solution architect and project lead across numerous projects, providing guidance to technical teams and coordination between business and technical teams in providing quality IAM solutions for customers.Track and report on IAM practice area state and plans.

Lead and guide technical teams in implementing IAM solutions for customers. Participate in vendor-independent IAM strategy initiatives both internally and for customers.Manage operations, define strategy, and lead teams for the NetIQ IAM solution sets.
