Lochard Energy is spearheading the Heytesbury Underground Gas Storage (HUGS) Project, aimed at enhancing the storage capacity of the Iona Gas Storage Facility. This initiative is critical as Australia transitions from coal-fired power to renewable energy sources. By expanding gas storage capabilities, the project will play a vital role in maintaining a reliable energy supply, particularly during winter, and supporting the broader shift away from coal-based generation.

Lycopodium is providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the design and construction of the process plant and infrastructure for Newmont’s Ahafo North Project. The Ahafo Gold Mine is located approximately 380 kilometers northwest of Ghana’s national capital city of Accra. The Ahafo North Project is a greenfield development some 30 kilometers northeast of Newmont’s existing Ahafo operations, referred to as Ahafo South. Manage all members of the HSEC team in compliance with applicable project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards. Maximise the productivity and efficiency of the HSEC team by planning, scheduling and the appropriate allocation of all resources to ensure deliverables are met.  Plan, develop and implement HSEC related plans, process, and procedures, as required, to enable the efficient management of the Project and ensure HSEC targets and reporting are met. Provide specialist advice across all project disciplines including assessing and identifying risks to ensure activities prioritise safety, environment, community and industrial relations. Proactively manage risks and governance by developing and implementing appropriate risk analysis and compliance frameworks aimed at best practice. Conduct HSE research to ensure the Company remains compliant and advice on any regulatory and legislative changes to relevant internal and external stakeholders. Advise the relevant Manager immediately of any safety or environmental, community or industrial relations incidents as per approved Company policy and procedures. Provide input for the compilation and submission of the project progress report monthly. Regularly communicate with the Site and Project Manager to provide weekly reports, updates and feedback with regards to the HSEC matters.  Identify and recommend the HSE resources required for the project, and appropriately allocate existing resources.

New Capital 4800MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Orascom Construction Industries (Egypt) Orascom Construction Limited is a leading global engineering and construction contractor primarily focused on infrastructure, industrial and high-end commercial projects in the Middle East, North Africa and the United States. The New Capital Project has an IFC funded contract value of over EUR 2.8 billion, across 15 Lending banks with SACE as the acting Export Credit Agency. The project is being completed with Siemens in a consortium partnership arrangement. The project has manning levels of over 8,000 men per day at peak construction. Management of all HSE deliverable’s that form part of the IFC (International Finance Corporation) Loan agreement for the New Capital Project. Management of an 80 strong EHS team (Combination of expats and Egyptian Nationals) looking across a construction and commissioning team of over 8,000. Providing strategic advice and direction to the Orascom HSE Director and onsite Project Management teams. Advising onsite Project Management teams around risk management practices for; lifting operation’s, including complex (dual crane/engineered lifts/heavy lifts + 400ton) SIMOPS, permit to work best practice, scaffolding and welding operations, CSE, and work in “live areas”. Management of Permit to Work System (Issuing 800 Permits per week), including all Lock Out Tag Out requirement’s and commissioning team interfaces. Representing the Consortium interests in all Lender and Client (Egyptian Electrical Holding Company – Government Entity) meetings. Coordinating HSE requirements for Civil, Steel Erection and Commissioning phases amongst the consortium partners. Development and oversight of compliant HSE documentation, including HSE Manuals and Emergency Response Plans.

Origin Energy Halladale Blackwatch Project ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions (Australia) ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions was granted the EPCM contract with Origin Energy for their expansion project Halladale Blackwatch. The project consisted of drilling from a land base (30-kilometres east of Warrnambool) to access offshore reservoirs locations five kilometers off the coast in the Otway Basin and Construction of the new 33-kilometre Halladale/Speculant pipeline, connecting the well site to the Otway Gas Plant.  Development of compliant HSE Manuals and Plans to cover drilling, pipeline and gas processing facility expansion work, including client integrated emergency response plans for existing facilities.  Management of all client HSE deliverable’s and interfaces, including the development and implementation of behavioral based safety program.  Contractor Management, including contractor’s prequalification management in line with the client’s process.  Participation in regulatory meetings (Worksafe, EPA, ESV) during planning and construction phases.  ICAM Lead Investigate.  Apply Risk Management principles and facilitate HAZIDs including leading and reviewing risk management processes both during the concept and constructability phases.  Permit to Work compliance oversight at the EPCM HSE Leader for all ThyssenKrupp staff and contractors.

Upstream HSE Project Lead BG – Group, QGC LNGQGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets. QGC is establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) a carbon efficient fuel. QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. Participate and assist in the planning, prequalification, selection, premobilisation, mobilisation, execution, demobilisation and close out phases of each contractor under their specific scope of work. Ensure a consistent HSSE approach of contractor’s standards across multiple projects/areas. Participate in contractor HAZID workshops review. HSSE Lead in ensuring clear interfaces are maintained during pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup activities and project. Ensure hand over to operations are undertaken and in line with QGC process. Ensure sufficient emergency arrangements/cover is in place for each contractor to cover the number of personnel and specific project risks. Ensure Permit to Work systems are being effectively managed.

ThyssenKrupp (FMG Solomon Mine) ThyssenKrupp was contracted by Fortescue Metals to provide and install Stackers, Reclaimers and Rail Infrastructure, inclusive of Train Load Out (TLO) facilities, as part of their T155 project to expand from its current operating state of 55 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 155mtpa, ultimately tripling their overall production capability.  Providing strategic direction and operational HSE support for project management teams.  Managing HSE aspects of projects including development and implementation of Security, Safety, and Medical Emergency plans.  Development of Environmental Plans and Environmental assurance programs.  Working in partnership with ThyssenKrupp HSE Leadership Group to identify key risks and support the development of corporate HSE standards for the business.  Coach and develop frontline supervisors to improve HSE deliverables.  Development and management of SAI Global certified ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801 HSEQ Management System.
