Phil Davis is an arts leader who is dedicated to connecting people through their creativity. With over 25 years as an artist, educator, curator, and arts manager, Phil’s work focuses on using the arts to create a sense of community among people brought together by shared experiences. He played a leading role in opening both the Co-op Image youth arts center in Chicago in 2005 and the Brentwood Arts Exchange/Gateway Arts Center partnership in Brentwood, Maryland in 2010. Since 2017, he has supervised Community Arts Services for The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in Prince George’s County, MD, managing arts partnerships, summer theater tours, the Brentwood Arts Exchange, the Fairwood Music and Celebrate Africa festivals, and numerous community-based programs. He served as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo and as Assistant Professor at Northern Virginia Community College. Phil holds BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
