Property lawyer acting for the Homes and Communities Agency and registered providers of social housing (amongst others) on a variety of estate management matters, and assisting in larger scale developments and projects.I also continue to act for private sector clients in respect of all aspects of their property interests, whether that be acquisitions, disposals or landlord and tenant work.

My experience in commercial property work has included a broad range of transactions in a variety of contexts and sectors.Such experience includes:»Assisting in the acquisition of sites for development by a national supermarket chain»Assisting in the real property related aspects of large scale refinances by major corporate occupiers of property»Assisting in the assembly of large sites prior to regeneration and redevelopment, including projects driven by both the public and the private sector»Acting for a large corporate occupier in assigning the leases of a large branch network following a major business acquisition, including the co-ordination of a small team dealing with the numerous interested parties in an extremely time-pressured context»Acting and assisting in estate management transactions for large landowners and investors»Assisting in the disposal of large portfolios of commercial property, including the organisation of extensive amounts of title and other information, and the co-ordination of responses to buyers in time critical transactions»Extensive experience of landlord and tenant work, including acting for a household name occupier of retail premises in the renewing of leases across their branch network.

I completed my training contract and qualified into the Real Estate department at Eversheds in Newcastle, spending a year in the Real Estate department during my 2 year training contract and 9 months in the department upon qualification. I gained particular experience in commercial Landlord and Tenant work from an occupier's perspective, and also in acting for clients in the Education sector. The remainder of my training contract was spent in the Construction and Employment departments. My construction experience provided a useful foundation level of knowledge of this area of practice, which has proven to be very beneficial when dealing with matters involving development in my Real Estate specialism.

I was mobilised for active service as a serving member of the Territorial Army. Prior to deploying to Afghanisation, I assisted in compiling a training programme for those soldiers under my command. This gave me excellent experience of essential skills such as delegation, prioritisation and attention to detail.I led those under my command through this training programme and a six month deployment. Whilst deployed, I also took command of soldier from other NATO countries, which gave me excellent experience of working in multi-national environments.This experience enhanced the leadership and management skills which I gained during a total of 15 years of service with the Territorial Army.

I worked for this outsourcing company in a department which handled credit-card applications. This work was highly regulated, and required me to explain financial terms in detail to individuals who were frequently entirely unfamiliar with the concepts being discussed. This enhanced my communication skills to a high degree.

I worked as a recruitment consultant in this high-pressure, target driven environment for over 2 years. The positions which I was seeking to fill were spread across the globe, which gave me excellent experience of business to business communication in a multi-national environment. I was also frequently required to make a positive impression in a very short timescale, which has made me comfortable in operating in similarly pressured environments.
