Human interface concepts for medical devices and athletic equipment

I have designed soft goods for medical devices and athletic equipment for over five years with an extensive knowledge of medical grade textiles. My work with leather and heavy textiles goes back to 1989. I work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Physical Therapists, Marketing and Production to create clean, modern designs. When a design is close to being complete, I digitize all patterns to be used in documentation and import them into SolidWorks EPDM Vault or equivalent. I have traveled to Beijing, Ningbo and Shanghai, China to set up production lines and ensure quality steps are being followed in the production of my designs. I also have dual citizenship to the EU.When not designing soft goods, I create large scale leather mosaic art. My works have been shown in galleries around the Northern California including the Oakland Museum of CA.

Designed prototypes and fabricated human interface components for pneumatic powered knee brace and powered ankle for medical application. This morphed into a consumer good currently being marketed toward skiing.

As part of the User Experience Team, I create, prototype, test, iterate and document wearables that empower the user and enhance the functionality of a Class 3 Medical Device. I work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Production and Regulatory to ensure all designs are functional, designed for manufacturability and are sufficiently documented for FDA approval.

I design and fabricate textile soft goods prototypes for Ekso Bionics. I create straps and pads that attach the Ekso to the pilot and protect the pilot at the same time. My work comes between the exoskeleton and the pilot.

I design and fabricate soft, gel filled and foam covered straps and braces which interface our exoskeleton known as eLegs to the human body. Great care is taken to ensure soft tissues are not injured during the use of the Exoskeleton.We changed the company name to Ekso Bionics but I still retain the same position.
