Lead a global team of attorneys and other professionals (in NORA, EMEA, and APAC) responsible for all employment, litigation, and traditional labor legal matters across the company, and provide counsel to company leadership on compliance matters, mergers and acquisitions, risk mitigation, strategic corporate initiatives, project management, and union relations. In this capacity, our team draws from law firm and in-house experience to provide clear guidance that balances the business objectives of the company with the appropriate risk assessment. The global team also manages VF's outside legal counsel. In that role, we seek value through alternative fee arrangements and risk-share partnerships. Our team's efforts in this area result in retaining high quality legal counsel, leaner workflow and process, and more predictable fees and outcomes, particularly in the area of high-stakes wage and hour class action litigation.Prior to joining VF, I led the labor, employment, and ethics team at a publicly traded company, and practiced as an attorney for several years with a national employment law firm, representing a broad spectrum of public and private clients, and handling all aspects of employment counseling and litigation.

• Serve as subject matter expert and provide guidance to the company on all areas of federal and state employment law.• Manage outside employment litigation and labor arbitration, including state and national class action litigation.• Handle administrative matters (EEOC, NLRB, OSHA, etc.), including the preparation of appropriate responses for filing with agencies, participation in on-site investigations, and representation of the company at mediation.• Supervise and develop strategy for company response to union organizing. • Partner with Labor Relations to initiate proactive union strategies.• Provide advice and counsel to Labor Relations related to collective bargaining strategy and contract interpretation.• Advise internal mergers and acquisitions group on valuation and integration issues arising out of labor and employment due diligence.• Provide guidance to Canadian business unit, including coordination with and management of outside employment counsel. • Provide regular field training to management in all areas of employment and traditional labor law.• Negotiate and draft settlement, severance, restrictive covenant and other employment-related agreements. • Draft and continuously review corporate employment policies to ensure legal compliance with national, state, and local labor and employment laws.
