Profile bio

About Phil Mclean Pr.Sci.Nat.

I am a passionate and highly competent botanist with a special interest in Fynbos ecology and Invasive Alien Species (with which I have a wealth of practical experience including field identification, writing up of strategic management plans as well as various forms of treatment and control - as I hold a Pest Control Officer license). I love to feel that I'm helping to ‘save the world’ by tackling various forms of environmental threats (including plant invasions). Public speaking and delivering presentations comes naturally to me and I enjoy any opportunity to educate and share my knowledge with others.I sit on a number of committees for environmental organisations and, unusually for an environmentalist, have a background in business having started and run my own company in the solar water heating market.

Listed skills include Sustainability, Environmental Awareness, Climate Change, Ecology, and 16 others.
