Phil joined Aurecon ( formerly Connell Wagner) in 2005 and was responsible for leading the NSW Rail between 2005 and 2016. During that period, the rail team experienced significant growth and Phil was responsible for the design delivery of a portfolio of rail projects including: the new $200m Newcastle, NSW Transport Interchange (D&C), the 6km, $175m Inner West Extension of Sydney Light Rail (D&C), the new $65m Auburn Stabling Yard (D&C), the concept design of the 12km, $2bn Sydney Light Rail CBD & SE project; the $1bn 36km Southern Sydney Freight Line and the concept design of the new $2bn, 15km South West Rail Link.From 2016 to 2017, Phil was Aurecon's Alliance Mangement Team representative for the $1.5bn Novo Rail Alliance. Key works being undertaken during that period included the design of works to upgrade Hornsby Junction, completion of the works to upgrade Wynyard Station in Sydney's CBD and the 2017 OHW upgrade program.Between 2009 and 2012, Phil was Aurecon's Client Relationship Executive, responsible for managing he account of Sydney Trains (formerly RailCorp), one of Aurecon's largest clients.

Regional Director: responsible for the day-to day operation of the York, UK, rail office. Phil was responsible for the delivery of a number of key projects including: the surface stations of the $100m GBP Sunderland Direct extension of the Tyne & Wear Metro project; the upgrade of facilities to 92 stations on the London North Eastern network; the design of the new Platform 0, able to accommodate Eurostar trains, at Kings Cross Station, London; the design of a new bus interchange at Leeds Station and various studies including a study to improve 'cross Aberdeen' passenger services and a study examining the feasibility of re-opening the Ashington, Blyth and Tyne line in NE England to passenger services.Principal Engineer: Phil was seconded to the Network Rail LNE 'Leeds First' team as a Design and Construction Engineer. The team was responsible for delivering the $165 GBP resignalling and remodelling project to Leeds Station.

Key projects included the works program to upgrade existing viaducts/bridges on the Settle to Carlisle line, UK.Engineer: reponsible for the design of several new bridges on the A1 Walshford to Dishforth motorway upgrade project in North Yorks, UK.
