External failure costs were 0.2% of sales. • Set appropriate tolerances with design engineers and produced higher quality parts in production by using advanced capability studies on sample sizes of 10 to drive improvement. • Customer complaints were reduced 80% through effective corrective actions in the Large Meter Plant. • Used designed experiments to save $40,000/year at final test. • Successfully reduced defects by 96% in Large Meter Plant’s Dept 11 (screw machines and stamping). Yields and set-up times were also reduced sufficiently to eliminate overtime in the Department 11. • Work done with key casting supplier, allowed them to achieve Badger Meter’s certified supplier status.
