As Special Projects Engineer, I undertook a wider variety of projects as well as being involved in the Bendigo Regional Waste Management Committee.These roles suited the experience that I needed to complement my studies in the Municipal Engineers Course. Bendigo Council was a great training organisation and was a terrific place to work and develop as a young engineer.
Engineering And Drafting Officer
At Tungamah Shire,I carried out engineering investigations, survey, design, setting out and project management of municipal projects both council funded and VicRoads(the known as CRB), funded. Councils main assets were:rurral roads, rural bridges and council buildings. I also carried out occasional building inspections to assist the Shire Engineer/Building Surveyor.Although I was part of a very small team at Tungamah,(5persons in the office),and 25 outdoor staff, I had a great time and learnt a lot . Tungamah Council and the people of Tungamah and surrounding areas, were very friendly, and this position was a great base to start a carreer in local government engineering.
