Discipline level Mechanical Engineer with the following responsibilities:Accountable for controlling the cost and quality of service delivered by Operations and Maintenance Support Contractors for mechanical systems. Technical authority and leader for operations and maintenance of assigned mechanical equipment and systems.Maintain Written Schemes of Verification for safety critical equipment of assigned equipment and systems to comply with Safety Case, DCR and PFEER regulationsProvide front-line mechanical advice and response to operations and maintenance problems.Provide leadership and technical guidance, including processes, procedures and training for both operations and maintenance personnel.Monitor and analyse performance of assigned systems, identify and report on equipment failures, defects and root causes.Manage the information, correspondence and documentation for assigned systems so that knowledge is retained, used effectively and readily demonstrates compliance.

Head of multi-disciplined teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of oil and gas process facilities. 10 years in this role on Offshore Floating Storage Units and 2 years on Normally Unmanned Installations (NUI's). Qualified as OIM for both types of Installation

Following a 4 year Marine Engineering Cadetship (1980 to 1984), spent 9 years in the Mercant Navy as Engineering Officer. All vessels were motorships and either LPG or crude oil tankers.Attained Class 1 Motor Certificate of Competency on 1990 and spent 2 years as 2nd Engineer before leaving the Merchant Navy in 1993
