My Booking Hub: the world’s first carbon-efficient automated scheduling platform to introduce travel times into appointments.We support businesses to maximise the number of bookings they can make in a day by allocating staff to appointments based on whoever has the most efficient travel itinerary between their current appointment and the location of the requested appointment. This allows users to: - Spend 30% less time travelling per month per person- Generate up to 36% more income per month per person- Save up to 250 miles per month per person, equating to around 1 ton of CO2e per year in emissions

When I joined Spark as Senior Developer in 2011 there were 4 other people in IT. At the time of writing in 2017 there are over 40 people across multiple teams and locations. I have recruited around 25 permanent employees into the various Development and Test teams in my Department. The two main off-the-shelf IT Systems (Billing & CRM) that were present in 2011 have since been replaced with in-house developed Systems and now form part of Spark's strategic development platform. My role was Solution Architect of these systems and I had overall responsibility for the development, testing and implementation of these key pieces of IT software.More recently, the main focus has been on developing a Microservices Architecture for the integration of data flowing between systems decoupled by REST APIs and Message Queuing technologies.The near future challenges will be around handling the volumes of data potentially created and required by Smart meter management and the ability of development teams to deploy multiple software releases to major systems on a daily basis.

Lead developer on various IT development projects including e-commerce websites and admin systems; ETL data migration projects; CRM, booking and accounting systems. Coming from a strong database background, I often provided guidance to other developers in this area. Main development platform: SQL Server 2008, MySQL & PHP.

Responsible for development of over 350 SQL Server databases. Lead developer on a significant redesign of the Tesco.com Grocery order fulfillment database. Notable successes were in the areas of performance tuning, reliability and additional features. Responsibilities included co-authorship of database standards and training of junior developers and testers. I also acted as line manager for database developers and DBAs within my team. Main development platform: SQL Server 2000 / 2005, C#.NET

Main responsibilities included developing entire software projects from scratch for clients in public & private sectors, creating data warehousing projects and database-enabled websites such as booking and management systems, e-commerce websites, web-based reporting & charting tools and business dashboards.
