Some of the companies I've worked for as a freelancer:Landor, Interbrand, Brand Union, SAS, Salter Baxter, Clear Ideas, Designhouse, FutureBrand, Identica, Fortune Street, Vivid, Addison, Command Associates, Wechsler, Neon.This has given me the opportunity to work with some sizable national and international brands in a diverse range of sectors. For instance: I worked with BP throughout their sponsorship of London 2012, designing the graphics on everything from pin badges to petrol stations; I worked with Barclays to develop a new photographic style for the whole organisation, and art directed six photoshoots in seven days to build their internal photo library; and I developed a wayfinding system and brand guidelines for the Wafi shopping centre in the heart of Dubai.

This was my first experience of branding at this medium sized London agency, specialising in branded packaging and corporate communications. I worked on a broad range of accounts including: Marks & Spencer Financial Services, Alliance Boots, Glenfiddich, Criminal Records Bureau and Nottingham Trent University. This, for me, was a new way of working. Suddenly I had a strategist giving me insight, an account handler managing the client and an artwork and production team finishing the job for me! This was all good as it meant spending more time designing: corporate IDs, brochures, packaging and websites.

I took my ideas-based approach I’d gained from Norwich School of Art, and applied it to design for print for clients like Tesco, Whitbread, London Fire Brigade and the London Tec Council. Working in a small company, I had to deal with every aspect of each project from concept to completion including: research, account management, art direction, artwork and production. It was a steep learning curve but gave me a broad understanding of the graphic design process. Fortunately, my approach to design meant I had the pick of the projects and the freedom to express myself in my work.Within 3-4 years I was seen as a senior designer and would pick up briefs from the client, present the creative and manage my own accounts.
