For over 25 years I've focused my practice on environmental, health and safety law issues facing the regulated community. I help my clients resolve complex issues arising under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act.I'm engaged in all aspects of environmental and toxic tort litigation, as well as appeals of environmental permits. My efforts on behalf of clients involve cases before federal, state, and administrative law courts. While I've litigated matters involving appeals of permits and challenges to decisions by regulatory agencies, I know how to work with federal and state agencies to obtain fair treatment for my clients and reasonable decisions as to the regulatory issues facing them. I also guide and counsel clients in a preventative manner so as to avoid regulatory problems before they become compliance or enforcement issues. Prior to attending law school, I worked as chemical laboratory technician and, subsequently, a sales representative for a manufacturer of laboratory and analytical equipment. This experience, along with my scientific education, gives me a strong technical background, and an understanding of technical issues that often accompany the legal issues arising in the environmental regulatory arena. I have an MBA and law degree. This combination gives me an added appreciation of industry’s balancing act – the need to comply with applicable environmental laws while still returning a profit. My goal is that the guidance I give to corporate counsel be found both practical and effective.
