Local Professional Support (‘LPS’) is the vehicle by which RSM assist other accountants and intermediaries. Typically, LPS involves:• Provision of assistance and advice to local accountants and intermediaries who wish to utilise the breadth of knowledge that RSM can offer across our many service lines.• Allows access to niche expertise and specialisms (e.g. Restructuring Advsory, Tax Investigation, Tax Planning, R & D specialists, Corporate Finance and International Business Network). • Act as a sounding board for our partner firms.• Advice is either generic or bespoke, providing tailored advice regarding specific or unusual circumstances or the effects of amended legislation.Formal advice can be provided in two ways:• On an adhoc basis to the incumbent accountant / advisor. This engagement is typically an open ended agreement to provide generic or bespoke advice tailored to the circumstance. Consequently, no engagement or consultation with the accountants / advisors client is necessary, however written advice can be provided and relied upon via specific engagement.• Direct introduction to the client by the accountant / advisor with the remit to complete specific tasks where either a conflict of interest exists or specialist advice is required due to size or nature of the issues faced. Core services remain the responsibility of the incumbent accountant.
