I am responsible for managing the timeline and processes associated with the University's operational planning process. I am the business link to our School of Health & Society and 4 Professional Service areas and support them in the creation of their operational plans and provide management information to support improvements in performance and to assist management decision making. I have worked extensively in supporting the creation of the University's strategies and academic and functional sub strategies. I am part of the team that has put together the University of Salford Corporate Strategy document.

I co-ordinated the production and return of operational plans which entailed working with Heads of School / Directors of Service in helping them identify operational activities that would deliver on the University’s Strategic Goals. I have done this 1:1, with the relevant senior leadership teams and in workshop style events for course leaders. This improved the understanding and buy in from all stakeholders to the process as I was able to promote the value of planning documents to the delivery of business objectives and optimisation of performance. I fully revised the University's Risk Policy. I was line manager for the Performance Officer who maintained the University's performance dashboards.

I was project manager for the inaugural internal student satisfaction survey in 2006. I did the analysis of the results of the NSS and reported this to the Executive. I wrote the Risk Policy for the University and maintained the University's risk register and regularly reported on this to Audit Committee and the Executive. I also undertook environmental analyses to highlight potential emergent risks and opportunities. I was part of the team that put together the HESA and HESES returns and undertook data cleansing work in support of this.
