My passion for information technology lies in the power of connection. In my career, I aim to strengthen connections between employers and employees, customers and customer service, and family members to one another.As a Systems Administrator at the Grand Rapids Public Library, I have the pleasure of connecting with our patrons, my peers, and my supervisors to create a sustainable system of information that can be beneficial and accessible to all. I have extensive experience in maintaining Linux servers, Google Workspace Administration, updating hardware and software, and using interpersonal skills to navigate multidisciplinary teams. Prior to my current role, I also worked as a Help Desk Technician, repairing errors notified to me through the library’s ticketing system. In both roles, I have refined my skills in updating public-facing computers, assisting employees in technological issues, and problem-solving ways to make our technology more efficient.My interest for technology doesn’t end in the workplace; in my personal life, I have researched and produced a hypervised home lab environment that supports applications for both myself and my family/friends. This has greatly enhanced my understanding of IP networking, virtual machines, and docker, so that I can better support these systems in both my home life and professional work. I am thrilled to announce that I am transitioning to the beautiful state of Colorado and aim to carry these goals with me to future employment. As I transition to my new home, I look forward to what the future holds and what opportunities lie ahead. It is my goal to make technology understandable and accessible to all so that we can be better connected as a workplace and as a community.
