I am a designer at Hydrock, a Co-founder of Crux a social enterprise helping people and communities hold the conversations that matter, and a qualified mediator. Previously a facilitator and collaborator at LWARB as well as a designer at Atelier Ten and Arup within the buildings sector.Crux | holding the conversations that matterwww.crux.org.ukCurrently I am an Associate Director at Hydrock, focussing on designing low carbon, low energy buildings and practically implementing the circular economy on the buildings and cities of the future. I previously led the Circular London community and collaboration initiative (500+ members) with a particular focus on the built environment sector. Developed, launched and run the world’s first Circular Economy Week 2018 & 2019 which grew to 40 events this year reaching over 1000 attendees. Recent project work has included an innovative ClimateKIC funded project on reusable buildings (RUBN), looking at the business case for reusable buildings including those that are flexible, adaptable, relocatable, returnable and recoverable. Other projects include LWARB’s circular office fitout, where circular economy principles were put into practice, the Circular Economy Statement relating to draft London Plan and a successful €10m bid looking at ‘Circular construction in regenerative cities’ (CIRCuIT) as one of four cities.During my career at Arup, I developed skills and experience in building physics, passive and low or no energy design, climate change adaption and mitigation, building services, project management, resource utilisation, and design of internal and external spaces for comfort. My design and analysis often focussed on creating internal and external environments which are beneficial to people and their surroundings, at building, precinct and masterplan scales, right now and in the future. After years of negotiation and conflict resolution experience on construction projects with Arup, I officially trained with London School of Mediation, and now mediate community cases with Wandsworth Mediation Service (WMS) and am exploring founding a similar practice. This has given me skills and experience in facilitation, conflict resolution and a deeper understanding of how to facilitate productive working relationships.
Listed skills include Building Physics, Daylighting, Green Building, Project Management, and 29 others.
