I originally trained and qualified as a solicitor, practicing commercial law for five years before joining Grant Thornton in 2000 to specialise in tax. I qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2003 but after 11 years decided to move to a specialist tax boutique, before using my experience to start my own business.I set up Harbour Key to provide a personal approach to tax and business advice for entrepreneurs, privately owned companies and start-ups. Working with a small team of experts we take the time to get to know our clients’ business so we can add value in all areas. I also have a passion for business funding, acting for a number of business angels and investing in my own right in start-up companies.When I’m not advising clients I write for a number of online business sites, am on the panel of experts for the Small Business Profit Club and act as a mentor for the Gloucestershire Growth Hub. I am married with two young children, a member of the Army Reserve and work with Cheltenham Round Table to raise money for local charities.
