Responsible for managing the development department, including three internal and three offshore teams. Set policies and established expectations and best practices. Champion for Lean and Agile principles, including the shift from a more directed approach to an empowered approach where teams have a clear mission and clear expectations.Introduced Kanban, Acceptance Test Driven Development, and test automation to three teams, and influenced the introduction of these practices to the other teams. Worked closely with offshore teams to incorporate best practices and improve their interaction with our local teams. We successfully adapted the “Scaled Agile Framework” by adopting its basic principles while replacing its heavier approach with a simpler planning process. This was a key step in stabilizing our intake and planning process and ensuring that we focused on delivering value to the company.
