Phil usually acts as either Project Director or Project Manager on complex and diverse EHS Audit Programs and Technical Due Diligence Projects, requiring a high degree of technical and commercial awareness of both environmental and safety matters.Phil also undertakes responsibility for selection of the project team most appropriate for the market sector and the technical demands of the project , and for the harnessing of AECOM’s local and global resources needed to accomplish the project objectives.In these roles Phil is often the main line of communication with the client and with other members of the project team, both internal and third party.Phil is Technical Director of the Transactions and Compliance team, based in the UK, has a PhD in chemistry, and has 30 + years experience in the manufacturing and environmental sectors (operational and consulting). Until joining URS in 2004, he spent seven years as Group Environmental Advisor and EHS Manager, Europe, to GEC/Marconi. He was responsible for advising the main board on all aspects of environmental management. Phil has been project director and lead auditor for numerous multi-site, multi-national SHE Compliance Audit programs and due diligence projects across Europe and the Rest of World, covering a wide range of industries. He has acquired extensive experience in supporting clients obtain regulatory permits and has also provided environmental audit training to affiliates, industrialists and regulators
