About Philip Barton Mcd Ba(Hons) Mrtpi

Following qualification in 2003 I went into private practice, while also studying for a PhD. I successfully applied to become a consultant planning inspector in June 2006. I was elected a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) on 13 July 2007. In October 2007 I became a salaried Inspector and was required to abandon my private work. I resigned from the Planning Inspectorate in October 2010 and re-established my private practice shortly thereafter. In May 2017 I was appointed to the panel of self-employed Reporters in Scotland. After seven enjoyable years there, I decided to take on a completely new challenge - that of editing Town & Country Planning, the journal of the Town and Country Planning Association.Specialties: Planning appeals in England and Scotland
