Growing up in the small town of Elora, Ontario, my five siblings and I were always surrounded by food. The kitchen was always at the centre of my life, working in restaurants and later traveling to Europe for three months, where my true love of simple ingredients and techniques helped focus my cooking style. As the first half of Chef Sous Chef and our CFO (Chief Food Officer), recipe development is where I am best recognized. Drawing on my experience as an eater and a cook, my inspiration comes from dining out, reading cookbooks, experimenting with ingredient pairings, and watching culinary television series like Top Chef.To me, simple food is beautiful food, and eating with your eyes is just as important as the pleasures of eating; the colours, smells, textures, sounds, and flavors, it’s all part of the experience. This doesn't mean you need to be a professional in the kitchen to execute my recipes, I write recipes for home chefs of all levels.Behind the scenes, you can find me handling our video editing, website management - including design, recipe writing, and SEO - and accounting.
