    Personal Financial planning and knowledge has been a lifetime pursuit. I am now helping others to learn how they can protect and grow their assets. I left the Census Bureau at the end of 2020. Not a bad gig considering I was hired as a temp field rep on a housing survey! I can say my time has I been rewarding and fulfilling. Throughout my career, I received new positions, new responsibilities, new and different projects. I never got bored and I was always learning and growing professionally. But it was the right time to get out of the way to allow others to come in. My role allowed me to manage operations as well as interact with data users and stakeholders. Knowing how much others depended on our information and seeing how the data are used has inspired me to do my best every day. Along the way I:- Converted paper maps to the TIGER file which ushered in the computer mapping and GIS industry- Helped develop many legacy systems at the Agency -Served on Agency policy teams - Worked 5 decennial censuses - Served as the sole regional representative to the 2020 Research and Planning team- Served as Subject Matter Expert on Diplomatic Enumeration procedures - Served as spokesperson and presenter at hundreds of events, meetings, and media interviews - Advised multiple Census Bureau Directors to prepare and conduct Congressional Hearings, Editorial Board Meetings, Town Hall Meetings, other major presentations, and site visits and tours -Received Census Bureau Outstanding Mentor Award -Recruited, hired, and trained many Census Bureau professionals who still work throughout the agencyIt has been quite the ride and my experience helped me to grow professionally and personally.
