I am a former IT architect that decided to pack in his job of 27 years and do something totally different. I decided to do something that would stimulate my creative side that lay dormant for far too long. Was the transition easy? It certainly wasn't, I openly admit it and I could not have chosen a worse time for a career change. Brexit and Covid-19 were major stumbling blocks. However, despite the many challenges and obstacles, I really enjoyed it. It was the first time in a long time that I genuinely learned new things. Those offered stimulation and excitement. I am so glad I took the step into the unknown and persevered. I love what I do now and would never swap it for the old corporate job. For all that are contemplating something similar, I am more than happy to tell you more about my experience and share some dos and don'ts.
