Creative and curator with wide-ranging professional experience which reflects an aptitude for both creative and visual, as well as academic practice. An expert in footwear design, photography and visual research I also love art history, historical research and writing.I have recently graduated from a Masters in History of Design at The Royal College of Art / Victoria and Albert Museum pursuing my passion for Art and Design History, with the aim of becoming a curator. I am passionate about cultural engagement and translating and sharing culture with a wide and diverse audience. I am also interested in preserving unique spaces with intangible atmospheres, telling untold stories and providing audiences with immersive, transporting historical experiences. My research interests include colour, textiles, footwear, dress and fashion, women’s art and craft in the early to mid-twentieth century, artists’ houses, Bloomsbury and the material culture of the suffrage movement. Having originally studied art history, I practised as a lawyer in the early part of my career. I then pursued my creative interests in both photography and fashion, gaining over 10 years’ experience as a commercial footwear designer, including 5 years working in New York designing a brand for Macy’s. My interest in sustainability and the environment then led me to work for respected NGO Global Witness for 5 years before returning to my original love of art and design history.
