Development and validation of the forensic DNA phenotyping, ie. prediction of human appearance from crime scene material for investigative purposes.The main aspects of my project include:- planning and coordination,- establishment of massive parallel sequencing analysis (MPS - Ion S5 System) for hair-skin-eye color and biogeographic origin,- use of DNA methylation-based methods (SNaPshot) to perform age prediction,- bioinformatic data, probabilistic and statistical analyses,- inform and teach collaborators on these new methods.

I was working in the transAL team involved on the maintenance and revision of the list of the analyzes (LA). The LA contains the analyzes supported by the compulsory health insurance. The main aspects of my work were to:- Improve the LA, by cleaning it up from obsolete and multi-tariffed positions (scientific and clinical validation).- Restructure of chapters from the LA, improving ergonomics and use.- Answer questions and requests from citizens and medias.- Support politicians with scientific expertise.

I was working in the field of rare diseases. I implement the international Orphanet database (directory of services: clinics, laboratories, research projects, registries, clinical trials, patient organisation) for Switzerland. I extended the professional network, but I also connected patients with their respective associations. Communication was a also a great part of my work.

I performed research on 2 skeletal dysplasias: omodysplasia (GPC6 gene - supervised and funded by Prof. Luisa Bonafé) and Ollier disease (IDH1 gene - supervised and funded by Prof. Superti-Furga), with the establishment of mouse models and their characterization. A therapeutic approach was also investigated. Side project: screening by Sanger sequencing (and MLPA) of GLUT1 mutations in a cohort of epileptic patients (collaboration with Dr. Lebon).

I studied 2 mouse models:1) functional investigations of aENaC in wound healing using a skin conditional ko mice, 2) phenotypical characterization of GILZ deficient mice, with implications in inflammation, sugar and fat metabolism, endocrine and sexual dysfunction.
