Since 2001, I operate in the areas of reproducible research, data curation, management and publication, and semantic web. As a core member of several grass-roots international initiatives, I work to develop standards and ontologies for representing and reporting data and metadata in the life and biomedical sciences. I am one of the authors of the FAIR Principles, which are being widely adopted in the academic as well as in the commercial and governmental setting, to ensure that data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable for humans as well as for machines.
