My heart and career lie in data: putting in the data enablement, analytics and decision management processes required to make data actionable and valuable to the business. Working for a leading financial service company, I did a role equivalent to a Chief Data Officer before the name was invented! I led the data and analytics function with up to 100 people, and have consulted with a range of other companies, I bringing practical leadership experience to support business outcomes.An investment in data doesn’t happen overnight. You need to set the vision, and then break it down into actionable components that each have a strong business case. How my skills support data leaders: ● A practical leadership perspective: I have years of leadership experience, spanning the functional side of data management and also leading people. ● Building the business case: I am highly experienced in building the business case for investing in data and understand what it takes to get C-Suite buy-in.● All about analytics: I’m passionate about the value that analytics can provide for decision making and have expertise in analytical techniques including: predictive modelling, segmentation techniques, forecasting, data mining, and big data.● Data and information management: Practical experience in data governance, data management, enterprise architecture, data warehousing and BI solutions. I have led analytics and reporting capabilities delivering insights and reporting applications to drive business benefits.● Enterprise risk management: I have experience working in both credit and risk management, including risk and compliance programs, and I have deep understanding of the role that data plays in enterprise risk.
