This question set me on a transformative journey, beginning with my interest in controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and urban integration. After exploring urban farming models, I grew frustrated by the lack of viable options for urban agriculture due to space, business, and structural constraints.Then one day, as I stood staring at the water well in front of my house, inspiration struck—could underground spaces beneath buildings be repurposed for agriculture? Researching the potential revealed a significant gap: while underground environments were often praised for their stable conditions, no one was seriously pursuing their use for sunless indoor farming. Motivated by this opportunity, I founded GreenForges Inc. and recruited an amazing multidisciplinary team to make this bold vision a reality.Leading GreenForges has been, and continues to be, a challenge in innovation, resilience, and personal growth. Along the way, I’ve immersed myself in a wide array of disciplines, from plant biology and CEA principles to mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. The complexity of this product—combining hardware, software, and biological systems—demands extensive research, technical rigor, and groundbreaking innovation.And the journey is just beginning.
