I am sales director at leading automotive supplier Randstad and head up the TerraClean network of garages throughout the UK. When Randstad launched the TerraClean brand in 2012, it did so following one of the toughest economic recessions ever experienced. But, we saw the potential to create a brand that could offer independent garages an alternative revenue stream and a network that maintains close communication.The aim was – and still remains – to create a network, not a franchise, that runs into the thousands. But, Randstad recognises the responsibility a growing brand has in the selection of new TerraClean service centres, with motorists first and foremost in their mind.Myself and my team have dedicated countless hours of personal time to support individual garages with growing the TerraClean brand in their area, attending local events and helping to establish an online presence. Randstad has never refused to provide help to a customer and last year led the TerraClean Two Ball rally for Macmillan Cancer Support. Not only did we beat more than 30 teams to win the rally, but raised a staggering £10K for the charity, galvanising support from the TerraClean network, fellow automotive suppliers and the wider public.In a short space of time, Randstad has re-invented what it means to be a forward thinking and supportive automotive supplier, putting “its money where its mouth is” to drive business into its customer’s business.Against a backdrop of national TV advertising, digital marketing and trade press coverage, the TerraClean brand has flourished. Today the network, described by those in it as “the family”, supports each other through the unlikeliest of mediums in the form of Facebook forums, offering technical support on the new TerraClean technology. As the TerraClean brand has grown, so to has its service centres, with many being recognised & celebrated in their communities by motorists and fellow businesses.
