With nearly two decades of experience at SmartChoice Agents Program, I’ve had the privilege of navigating the evolving insurance landscape and driving growth for our 500 independent agency partners across South Carolina. My journey began in 2005 with the first rollout of nonstandard auto carrier products, managing rate updates via floppy disks—an experience that highlights how far our industry has come. By 2007, I was deeply involved in the implementation of new coastal guidelines, working through a complex receivership process that required close collaboration with carriers and reinsurance counterparts to ensure stability and compliance.Over the years, I have built strong relationships with home and auto carriers, recruiting and developing tailored products that create new opportunities for our agencies. During periods of hardening markets, my focus has been on balancing carrier profitability while helping agencies diversify their income streams. I have always believed in the importance of community involvement, and have encouraged our agencies to leverage their local engagement for long-term success.My role has always been driven by the goal of aligning carrier needs with agency growth, ensuring that our partners not only survive but thrive in a constantly shifting industry.
