In my role as executive director, I am committed to providing member libraries with unsurpassed service and deep expertise that ensures patrons receive ongoing access to a rich spectrum of resources. To that end, I work alongside our cooperative to provide cost-sharing opportunities, library automation services, technical support, and an organizational structure that is conducive to collaboration and efficient management of tax dollars.Serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors in order to provide defined services to a shared services cooperative of 51 public libraries employing 1,000+ professionals serving a population of 700,000+ people. Services include but are not limited to:-Integrated library system (ILS) administration, discovery layer, mobile app and cataloging services-Computer hardware deployment and ongoing technical support-Network administration-Third party vendor contract negotiating-Staff training programs-Continuing education opportunities-Strategic infrastructure planning-Governance and committee coordination-Leadership of a community Advisory Board-Relationship building with local, regional, state and national level entities-Statistical gathering and ROI analysisDirectly supervises an office of 5-10 highly-skilled and motivated individuals who assist in the provision of one or more of the aforementioned services. This position also essentially acts as the organization's COO, CFO and HR manager.Responsible for transforming over time a group of expert professionals from loose affiliation to a more cohesive, synergistic organization intent on creatively solving problems and providing dynamic services to the residents of the Greater Hunterdon-Morris Area.
