As senior product engineer in Dana Incorporated’s light vehicle division, I oversaw design, testing, and validation of axle shafts and wheel-end components. Major customers included Fiat Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Isuzu, Volkswagen, and American General Department of Defense. I worked closely with global engineering groups and international customers based in Mexico, India, South Africa, and Thailand. I also served as the company’s subject matter expert on axle shafts, wheel bearings, and wheel-end components. OUTCOMES INCLUDED:🔹 Redesigned u-joint snap ring to eliminate part malfunctions and significantly reduce warranty returns.🔹 Delivered training courses on axle shaft and wheel-end design to up to 20 students annually for seven consecutive years. Due to COVID-19-related workforce reductions, I am now seeking my next opportunity.

I stayed on following Kyklos’ acquisition of Delphi to serve as a senior project engineer in the product engineering physical test laboratory. Here I led validation and development tests for automotive and light-duty truck wheel bearings. I also authored final reports on product performance. OUTCOMES INCLUDED:🔹 Directed up to four major product testing programs per year.🔹 Tapped to lead special project to develop a testing system for detecting and identifying defects in bearing assemblies.

I oversaw CAD operations for product and process design and led a team of eight design engineers. I also coordinated finite element analysis (FEA) and made key contributions to new product designs.

I directed multimillion-dollar wheel bearing projects for major automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEM), internal Delphi divisions, and external tier-one suppliers. I also leveraged and applied extensive knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) systems.

I led a 20-member team and oversaw test laboratory operations. I also worked on multidisciplinary committees aimed at on-time validation for new General Motors products. OUTCOMES INCLUDED:🔹 Led major wheel bearing product implementations and project implementations.🔹 Aligned test procedures with customer specifications and served as global customer liaison. 🔹 Sustained surplus on a $1.8M budget for four consecutive years. Prior to stepping into this supervisory role, I held senior application, project, and manufacturing engineering roles. Major outcomes and accomplishments from this earlier period include:🔹 Earned first GM President’s Council Award for work on GM’s first electronic vehicle to reach production.🔹 Increased customer satisfaction and delivered cost savings with plant improvement initiatives.🔹 Led team to deliver $3.5M project on time and under budget, achieving significant production cost savings while driving assembly of 2.8M new bearings annually. 🔹 Designed improved sealing system for a drive-wheel bearing sold to Cadillac and Chrysler.
