Throughout my career, I have developed and applied new methods and instrumentation, most recently developing new workflows and assays for pharmaceuticals companies, focused on high-throughput live cell assays for the characterization of proteins. My work experience has spanned working at companies with mature product lines to start-ups in early feasibility. During this time, I have developed products from concept and feasibility through to product launch, and played a variety roles in post-launch support, developing training and application materials and direct customer support. I really enjoy working directly with customers to enable them to do great science.
Listed skills include Mass Spectrometry, Protein Chemistry, Protein Purification, Molecular Biology, and 16 others.

Emeryville, California
Conceived and lead the development on the Bispecific Heterodimer assay for the characterization of complex molecules measuring the relative stoichiometry using the Custom Productivity assay. This assay allows quality clones to be identified in the initial screen measuring both the quantity and quality of the secreted protein. Led several customer collaborations as the principle technical scientist to develop and demonstrate the workflow.
Emeryville Ca
Conceived and developed the Custom Productivity assay from concept through launch. This assay requires only two parameters to be optimized (exposure time and concentration) and can be used with a large variety of detection molecules (MW, Kd, etc.) to quantitate a variety of secreted proteins, greatly expanding the capability of the CLD workflow. This assay also provides improved quantitation with an integrated calibration curve. Developed the training materials and led multiple customer collaborations to demonstrate a variety of applications of the assay, one collaboration which resulted in a new instrument sale. Continuing to work to demonstrate the capabilities of this assay to characterize not only the quantity but the quality of new and complex molecules (e.g. bispecific molecules).
Emeryville
I manage the team that develops and executes our integrated workflows on our Beacon instrument platform. In addition, our team develops the workflow training materials and train users and our field application scientists. In addition, I continue to act as an individual contributor focusing on assay development.
Emeryville Ca
I am working to develop highly sensitive, massively parallel, integrated workflows with single cell resolution through simultaneous manipulation, analysis, and selection of single cells. Initial applications of BLI’s technology are in biologic discovery and development as well as single cell annotation and genomics.
Hercules Ca
As a Systems Integration Scientist, I developed products from feasibility through to the final product, ensuring the product mets the customer's scientific needs. I primarily worked on pharmaceutical-focused protein purification and characterization workflows and related products. I planned and carried out verification and validation testing, beta testing with customers, and produce applications work (tech notes, data for brochures, etc.) to support products. In addition as part of the launch of new products, I trained sales and technical support. I worked closely with a interdisciplinary team both internally and externally to Bio-Rad that includes engineers (mechanical, electrical, software), other R&D scientists, and marketing members. In addition, I worked with our marketing and business development groups to explore and develop new technologies for single cell and protein characterization and quantification.
Berkeley Ca
Worked to developed in collaboration with Agilent Technologies an automated method to cheaply and robustly synthesize many genes in parallel. The method will then be used to generate a set of putative enzymes and screen for specific enzymatic function.
Berkeley Ca
In my thesis research, I worked on the single molecule mechanical characterization of proteins using optical trap force spectroscopy. I prepared and characterized the samples and developed improved instrumentation and analysis methods.
