I've enjoyed a long term career in the Title and Escrow industry starting in 1979 as a Title examiner for a small title company in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the years, I've worked for both large and small companies, some just local start ups and others being among the largest title companies in the country. Through these many years of experience, I've learned that a large company can go out of business just as quickly as a small business.Among the best career decisions I've made was in 1987, when I decided to come to work at Founders Title Company (Founded in 1984) as the manager of the Title department. The owners at the time, David MacFarlane and Bruce Hancey, were excellent mentors and supporters of the Utah Land Title Association (ULTA). Through their great tutelage and encouragement, I got involved with the ULTA, met key players in the industry, both locally and nationally and made wonderful life long friends along the way.I became a part owner of Founders Title Company in 2003 and in 2005 became CEO of Founders Title Company and here I've remained to this day.Founders Title Company showed its ability to think outside the box as we joined forces with other leading title companies in our area as well as a National Title Insurance Company to establish Western America Title Services (WATS) providing backroom Title Services to title companies all along the Wasatch front.Founders Title Company is also a shareholder in Automated Title Services (ATS) providing electronic title searches to Title Companies for property located in Salt Lake County, Utah.We've enjoyed a long and wonderful relationship with Realtors, Attorney's, Banks, Mortgage Companies, and every aspect of the Real Estate Industry in Utah and look forward to continuing to play a key role in the industry for many years to come.
