Port Planner I
Current• Lead internal research and coordination with local and state agencies to update regional plans and databases in accordance with federal and state guidelines. • Coordinate traffic, bicycle, and pedestrian counts, as well as maintaining, creating and modifying guides and matrices to streamline collection of traffic information. • Compile and interpret data for distribution to internal and external stakeholders, such as traffic volumes, truck classifications, container and twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) counts, for use in traffic analysis, environmental documentation, PortTAM travel demand model, and public media. • Develop scenarios for grant and other funding opportunities utilizing materials such as informational factsheets and matrices, to determine optimal resource distribution.• Act in multiple roles, including leadership, writing, editing, research, internal and external coordination, to facilitate the award of $98.8 million in local, state, and federal funds. • Lead, manage and coordinate $49.8 million in grant funding for multiple major roadway, rail and terminal infrastructure projects. • Instruct and coordinate with high school and college interns on daily tasks, as well as guide their performance towards set objectives for traffic analysis, grant applications, and interagency research. • Provide guidance and updates to other Port planners and staff on ongoing grants, projects, and opportunities.
