Born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, growing up Murphy was best known for being an elite basketball prospect in NYC. After graduating high school, Murphy did not qualify academically to receive any division one or division two scholarships so he played for Mark Adams at Howard Junior College in Big Spring, TX. The team went 35-2 and were ranked the number one team in the nation. After a successful freshman year, Murphy went to visit Middletown, NY and was shot with an AK-47 assault rifle crippling a promising basketball career.Murphy sustained many injuries, but went on to pursue his B.A. in Psychology at Texas Tech University. Resilient and undeterred, Murphy did not let adversity stifle him or his creativity. Murphy went on to become a true artist with a dynamic personality and a style like no other.
